As a double feature for New Year's Eve I do recommend #RobertAltman's revisionist #western "McCabe & Mrs. Miller" (1971) starring #WarrenBeatty and #JulieChristie, featuring songs by #LeonardCohen, plus #JimJarmusch's acid western "Dead Man" (1995) starring #JohnnyDepp, #IggyPop, and #RobertMitchum, featuring an ingenious soundtrack by #NeilYoung. Thanks go to Tom Hall for reminding me of Altman's masterpiece.

The 1970s produced a number of interesting “computers are going to turn against us” films. Including Donald Cammell's Demon Seed (1977).
Yes this is the infamous movie in which a computer forces Julie Christie to have sex with him.
The film is a mixed bag. It doesn't quite come off but it is interesting and provocative, less exploitative and more intelligent than you might expect.
