Uuuuh... why does #Adobe #DNG Converter seem to put a foot down on my SD card reader so I can't eject the card while the app is running? (I've only converted files on my NAS so far, never once pointed the app at my SD cards.)

Also, why does it try to convert DNGs to DNGs? Is there a technical benefit to that, or...?

I don't really like working with #XMP sidecar files because a lot of apps treat them inconsistently. And some apps refuse to update metadata in Nikon NEF files.

So screw it, I'm going full #DNG, because at least that has consistent metadata behaviour and apps generally *do* save metadata in DNGs.

...downloading the #Adobe DNG converter and OH MY GODDESS IT'S 776 MEGABYTES. For a FILE CONVERTER. Can't Adobe avoid bloat for one hot minute?
