It surprised me that both Hidive and Amazon Prime translated 推薦 (suisen) as "recommendation". It took me a while to realize they meant what in the US we'd call "a scholarship" (i.e., a university reduces/waives your fees to entire you to attend, though of course see https://slate.com/business/2022/07/college-financial-aid-sham.html about what a scam this "financial aid" is in the US 🤦).
