#GeekDad deed of the day: Got both my kids a nightlight, same make, different model, dinosaur for k1 and unicorn for k2. Dino came with a typical RGB LED remote, unicorn didn't. Remote works fine with the dinosaur, but does nothing for the unicorn.

I opened up both and investigated the board. The unicorn misses the IR receiver, but the pads are readily available on the board. So naturally I soldered an IR receiver onto the board and it works like a charm!
