A couple of weeks ago I saw a Velleman K8600 3D printer kit on sale at a local electronics store for less than €70. Bargain!

It took just a few hours to assemble, but unfortunately I lost one of the 2 mm grub screws.

I then spent a couple of days intermittently crawling around on the floor with a magnet and a brush and found nothing :-(

When I told the nice people at Velleman about this they said they'd send me a couple of extras for free. These took a little while to arrive, and then I had a couple of busy days, so it wasn't until today that I tightened up that last grub screw and got the thing working. It took almost not effort at all to set it up and start something printing.

My other 3D printer is a reprap built in 2014. That took a lot more effort to get going but it still works well. I just thought this might be more convenient for making small things.
