Swapped in the #Kailh box navy keyswitches into my keychron Q3 and they're fantastic. Quieter, at least with the gasketed steel plate, than a Cherry MX Green but stiffer with a slightly shorter and sharper engagement. I only have a half-day typing on them but they may be my new favorite switch.
On a #Kailh budget with #Cherry_MX dreams, so I've been eyeing a few #Gateron switches, just due to options and price point but, JFC... having so many choices is kinda overwhelming.
Then there's shit I don't even know where to start with. Panda? Two stage? Hybrid? My god, I feel like I'm wading through a sea of gov't cyphers. HQ, THE EAGLE HAS LANDED. INSERT THE BLUE DRAGON INTO THE EPSILON QR7's R4.
Just send me back to the days of the 'ping ping' IBM Model M, y'all. ;~;
Finally started soldering the key switch sockets on the printed circuit boards (PCBs). Was quicker and easier than I was expecting. Soldered about 20 sockets for now, showing only 6 in the picture. 'Third Hand' or 'Helping Hands' are proving to be very helpful, definitely recommended.
Hoping to solder all the sockets by end of the week. Enjoying it so far.

Well, I managed to find somewhere that I THINK is selling legit #Kailh Speed Bronze keyboard switches. Even got myself a fancy artisan #keycaps. My #gaming boards are simple as shit and most always stock because they only have one job and there are plenty of options that work well out of the box, but my #typing #keyboard? That's another matter entirely.

@benjaminhollon Similarly here too. I've been sporting #Razer Orange Mechanical Switches until now (tactile silent). Now, for the next step, I'm considering #Kailh silent pink or brown (linear or tactile). Curious to hear your opinion when you get the tester.

in case you're wondering what's that #pcb is, that is called "sweep" #keyboard https://github.com/davidphilipbarr/Sweep
it's a 34 keys minimal keyboard with staggered rows. and this version is for #kailh choc switches, hot swappable and all
I wish it had RGBs though for extra bling, but, oh well. I guess we all have to suffer
Btw, is there anyone around who tried the new kailh sunset switches? My wife is threatening a divorce over the clicky white ones, so I'm looking for low pro tactile switches

I just built a Crisco #keyboard. I used #Kailh low profile Choc Pink switches, which are super-light, facilitating chording. It's a variation on the Butter Stick: https://qmk.fm/keyboards/butterstick/

Ordered a new #mechanicalkeyboard - this time with #kailh brown switches and a 60% layout (not even Fn keys) because I won't to be able to travel with this one.
@funnylookinhat @system76 #Kailh BOX silent pink switches are really light. 🪶 At the time I bought my #novelkeys box cream, the pink were all but non existent. That and novelkeys box cream are kind of amazing on their own. Personally helped over strains on my finger joints. 👌
Still. Really like the choice here on the silent pink. For people who suffer with carpal tunnel or just joint fatigue, these can be really amazing to use.

Has anybody tested the clicky #kailh BOX switches? Any comparison with the #ibmmodelm buckling spring? I don't think I should expect them to feel similar, but who knows. #mechanicalkeyboard

My #Kailh choc keycaps are at customs. My rotary encoder is en-route to Hungary. I already have the ATMega32U4.
Things are getting real. But I'll buy a breadboard first, before soldering anything anywhere.
TFW I see a thumbnail of a picture of windows, and my brain's first idea is to recognise it as a set of #Kailh choc keycaps.
Having typed a bit more on #Kailh Pro Plum switches, I now find them a tad too heavy.
