Update on the kakishibu coloring. Here’s before and after photos after two days of about 3 hours each day in full Santa Fe sunlight, though there were some clouds, so the UVIndex didn’t get much above 8. The angles are slightly different, but the difference in color is pretty striking. I’m going to give it a few more days before I write up a web page about this, but I think I’ve found a new finishing technique! #woodworking #kakishibu #finishing
