It's especially dumb that I'm only now understanding this stuff, since I was hired in 2004 to work on a project that was powered by #bayesian networks, but never really investigated that part. (although I was also not well-equipped to if I had back then)

Months ago I was making a 3D #Xmas tree display. This happened to link up with a problem I was considering at work about simultaneous observations with #radar and #telescope.
That got me looking at how #robots navigate (#SLAM) and I started writing a sim of that. In progress.
Now I'm writing a #Kalman tracker for #weightloss.
It turns out this is the exact same thing as all the above!
Any time I #learn anything, it hooks up to everything.
