Nanami tried to refuse.
She didn’t want to dance.
But Nanami was not someone who said no.

That’s how she got the graveyard shift, the one from 3-6.
When the merriment was over was when they put her in.
As long as she danced, her team would not lose.

It didn’t matter that she was alone, not to them.
Because Nanami didn’t matter.

“At least I love to dance,” she murmured as the clock struck three. “They can’t take that away from me.”

Then she closed her eyes and began to sway, letting the music fill her. And she pictured a handsome stranger, taking her hand and whisking her away.

To a place where she wasn’t lonely.
To a place that she was loved.

With each passing note, her wish grew stronger, and so did the way she twirled. Sometimes too she swore she could feel the warmth of a hand in hers, leading her to and fro.

Suddenly, she didn’t feel so alone.
When the clock struck 6, Nanami opened her eyes.

“I wondered when you would look at me,” he said, he had silver hair. “So I could see your beautiful eyes.”
Never again would Nanami be alone.
