@Lillyouknowit I'd like to point out that though it is entirely up to the poster, I know there are folks on here comforted by #catsofmastodon #DogsOfMastodon and #KangaroosOfMastodin who aren't the slightest bit interested in #uspol or #auspol and that is their right in a multifaceted community.
As the community increases, the quantity of #toots is likewise increasing which is to be expected.
The simple idea of using #cw is just there to give people an idea of whether they will be interested or triggered it shamed by what is being announced which is essentially what CWs are.
It doesn't take a minute. It doesn't effect the folks who see it. But it may save a moment for those who are in an area where politics is poisonous. Like the #USA.
It's simply being polite which is already everywhere in the #Fediverse.
It's like opening a door for someone, or going outside to fart. Simple good manners.

My new year #resolution after walking down a guided #walking track with eyes closed reading the #Braille notices and finding one that I interpreted, because my Braille isn't good, to say "Don't Touch", is to ask all photographers, especially of wildlife, to #CaptionEverything in #CamelCase so those who are #VisionImpaired can enjoy them the same as everyone else.

I have come to the point where I think to not do so is #Ablist.

Please #boost this and see if we can't have the whole community thinking about the whole community, not just the able.

#CamelCase #hashtags can be read by screen readers which are used by our #VisionImpaired #Brethren throughout the world where the technology can be afforded.
