J. P. Mahaffy (born 1839 #OTD) was also one of the #TCD scholars who made up the Trinity #KantianSchool, which focused on accurate translation of Kant's works and useful commentaries from German and equally accurate understanding of what #Kant was saying in his own terms.

It's also thanks to Mahaffy that we have an account of what an Irish university developed such a focus on Kant.
