I am bound to the LGBTI Community by love and anxiety. Along with the love, a loathing for the brutality many often face. I translate the works of pioneers, such as #KarlHeinrichUlrichs and #MagnusHirschfeld, who gave voice to people like us who lived long ago. It keeps me connected by giving them a new opportunity to tell their stories of love and fear. Their lives entered oblivion, silenced by book bans and burning. The work became hard to access, and it was mostly in German. 1/2
