Implausible/improbable.

1️⃣ Reporter angrily/accidentally kills his young girlfriend, then frames her secret lover. Not realising it’s his own son!! Gasp.

2️⃣ Also, he’s long-time pals with Mike Stone () and he works the investigation with the guys.

3️⃣ Oh! And is the blackmailer who saw everything. But he gets himself shot dead for his trouble.

4️⃣ It’s hard to take any of this seriously.

Cat O' Nine Tails (1971), Dario Argento's 2nd film. The key witness is a blind retired reporter (Karl Malden). The plot doesn’t make much sense (in fact no sense at all) but plot coherence is not a necessary ingredient of a top-class giallo.

Not as good as The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, but still a fine giallo.
