Chechen singer Zelimkhan Bakayev, who went missing in 2017, was killed on Ramzan Kadyrov's orders after prolonged torture, says SC SOS
The singer, who flew to Grozny from Moscow, disappeared on August 8, 2017, his disappearance caused a wide resonance, but the republic's authorities refused to investigate the incident, and Ramzan Kadyrov tried to blame his relatives for the singer's murder.
Journalists had previously speculated that the murder could have been related to Bakayev's homosexuality; now human rights activists from the IC SOS have confirmed this version.
