@joeyh@hachyderm.io @gpoo @joeyh@octodon.social Ah okay maybe it's then a problem with the program invoking evince, #KBibTeX in my case! Apparently it launches evince with the full path. Thanks for checking!
Apparently the #Evince PDF reader is one of the programs that doesn't understand symlinks. That's a pity, as I use :gitannex: #gitAnnex to sync my #TexLaTeX #BibTeX bibliography which I manage with #KBibTeX. So either I live with this, `git annex unlock` all my files or try to fix Evince myself 😅
#evince #gitannex #texlatex #bibtex #kbibtex
Heh, I really like the principle of using nix-shell as a shebang. This script just launches #KBibTeX (the #TexLaTeX #BibTeX bibliography editor). Helpful in a synced :gitannex: #gitAnnex repo with multiple participants across different OSs.

@kde KDE and Free Software developers support #climate research by providing transparent, robust, and adaptable tools for all scientists worldwide.
Thank you @kde for making such great #research tools accessible for all to use, understand, adapt, and share. These inherent characteristics of #OpenSouce #FreeSoftware make for good science!

@nobodyinperson I keep them separated. I organize literature via #Zotero. Sometimes I use #Recoll when I look for a specific information in my library. When I write papers I make a snapshot of the papers a I want so cite. That is when I use #kbibtex alot in combination with #RKWard.

I just noticed (again) how great #kbibtex (https://userbase.kde.org/KBibTeX) is. It comes with some nice feature such as a #zotero integration. Moreover, it makes it quite easy to insert #LaTeX references in #RMarkdown documents when working with #RKWard.

@hirnbloggade @bgcarlisle Not much academic writing here, but I usually write in Org-mode. I export to #LaTeX, and then finish work in #AUCTeX + #BibTeX + #RefTeX. I sometimes use ebib.el for bibliographies, but lately I've been using #kbibtex for that.
For focused writing, I love #darkroom mode (other people prefer #olivetti mode).
