se me ha ocurrido probar #KDE y al ver la de aplicaciones que instala por defecto #kde-standard se me ha hecho una montaña, menos mal que luego he descubierto #kde-plasma-desktop y la cosa ha mejorado 😅

Been playing around with my #KDE desktop on #Fedora #Linux 38. #GNOME is just super boring, but lighter on resources. KDE is just super amazing for customization though. But getting that look and feel just right can be daunting.

Maybe their current OS is too slow.

Maybe #linux helps them easily learn #softwaredevelopment and #Python , including #docker (half true, but I've used it from time to time, acknowledging you could do it in Windows, bit harder, but in Linux, you get my tech support)

Maybe the #gnome/ #kde DEs are smoother for work using virtual desktops and touchscreen gestures (I'll teach them on #linux, on other os', they can teach themselves.

As you may remember we DM'd a week ago. As a #linux user, we're struggling to locate where '#Notes' are stored for the #Tokodon application. Is there a page anywhere online where we can learn about that? We've tried intuitive locations, such as the '.local' and other folders but to no avail.

@beyondexcess Using #KDE here. A reboot shouldn't be necessary, unless another package required a reboot.

By itself, VIvaldi doesn't require a reboot when updating.

I use 'nala' (in a terminal window) to update my #Debian12 systems.

I’m in the process of nuking and paving my work laptop to deal with mixed DPI, scaling issues, #Wayland etc. in a dual-screen setup with #Kubuntu 23.04. I just tried the vanilla #Ubuntu 23.04 in a live environment and I’m impressed how most of my problems don’t even exist and how polished the Ubuntu #GNOME setup is! Having switched permanently to #KDE Plasma 5+ years ago (and loving it!), I’m now seriously evaluating a switch back vanilla Ubuntu, if I can’t fix my issues on Kubuntu! ❤️

So I've been testing different #linux #Desktop environments... I think I'm a #gnome guy. I also like #cinnamon a lot.

I don't like #KDE, sorry T_T. Although I'm totally sure I would be a very big fanboy of it if I was younger.

Gnome is weird, very weird... but once it clicks with you its hard to change to another thing.

Cinnamon its just a simpler life, "sensible defaults" as the cool kids like to say these days. Not too much hassle and keep on keeping on.
