2. When the seller of the vehicle (probably a Dodge or Jeep, the manly cars cops like), brandished a gun to rob the cop and his unnamed relative, the s art thing to do would be not resist. This is a cop. He should be able to get a good description of the perp and his car tag and use his department resources to track him down.

I don't know any other profession in which an employee goes against common sense and the public safety advice of his own law enforcement agency, gets gravely injured, and who's grave injuries are worthy of a press conference by both the mayor and the chief of police, as if he was shot while on duty.
