#BackyardAstronomy - A piece of space junk, a Lacrosse 5 / Titan 4B rocket body, will pass directly overhead this evening, passing bright star Vega in constellation Lyra moving from NW to SE. This is not a huge structure, so it will not be as bright as other objects. Away from city lights will be your best bet for good seeing. #KeepLookingUp

"The UTC Chemistry and Physics department hosted a Solar #Telescopy event for UTC Welcome Week. Thank you to the Barnard Astronomical Society members who brought their solar scopes (and one who streamed live from home) for solar viewing. It was a nice, hot day to see the sun! Students also learned about the Clarence T. Jones Observatory!"

#BackyardAstronomy - large piece of space junk - in this case a Chinese rocket body will rise in the west this evening before fading nearly overhead.
A few clouds here and there. Brightness will be a bit low so away from city lights will be your best bet for seeing. #KeepLookingUp

Clear Skies website update, page Astronomy - Discoveries.
A few small nebulae that are - to the best of my knowledge - unknown and undesignated. Nr.'s 173 through 178:

Clear Skies website updated with 3 objects I encountered today that are - to the best of my knowledge - unknown and undesignated.
First one, nr. 170, is a small reflection nebula in Sagitta: https://clearskies.eu/astronomy/discoveries151-175#170

... and here's nr. 169: an extremely small but moderately bright galaxy in the constellation of Leo, 8 seconds of arc north of the mag. 12.9 star 4UCAC472-045515.

Clear Skies website update, page Astronomy - Discoveries: nr. 168.
A galaxy directly north-northwest of the mag. 9.5 M5 star SAO62523 in the constellation of Ursa Major. On SDSS imagery, the galaxy is hidden in the glare of the star.

Clear Skies website update, page Astronomy - Discoveries: nr. 165. A small, northeast-southwest elongated, irregular (reflection) nebula directly southwest of the mag. 8.0 K0 star SAO49842 in Cygnus.

#KeepLookingUp --- Tonight's best #SatelliteSpotting opportunity will be a decently bright pass of China's space station #Tiangong1, moving from NW around 9:33 PM EDT, going just above the North Star, then fading into Earth's shadow around 9:38 PM

As I pieced together the observing guide depicted in the post above, I noticed a small, elongated (reflection) nebula to the northeast. Not previously recognized nor designated, to the best of my knowledge.
Added as nr. 164 to https://clearskies.eu/astronomy/discoveries151-175#164

#BackyardAstronomy - If skies clear enough, a decently bright pass of Chinese space station #Tiangong1 will occur between northern horizon and the North Star Tuesday evening over the @wdefnews12 viewing area counties.
Best viewing will be well away from city light pollution. #KeepLookingUp

The Clear Skies website is updated with a few possible discoveries, nr.'s 161, 162 & 163:

As seen on WDEF News 12 This Morning: two minor meteor showers - the Southern Delta Aquariids and the Alpha Capricornids - are peaking soon. Small amounts of meteors expected (5-25 per hour) as well as the Moon being around full with plenty of light to drown out the smaller meteors as compared to the stronger Perseid meteor shower peaking in about 10 days. #KeepLookingUp

Clear Skies website update, page Astronomy - Discoveries: nr. 160. A V-shaped object directly southwest of the star SAO119672. Nebula, galaxy, planetary..?

To the best of my knowledge this is not a known object.
