I do what I can & send what I create out on submission. Other than two publications in tiny zines back in the early 2000s, I've had no publication success, but I still try.
I've had a re-write request from an editor I respect. I am delighted by this micro-success.

Pretty sure it isn't my mannerisms since I'm generally keeping up with what's going on. We just failed. Usually by bad calls or just super unlucky. Guessing 1337 and how other words can be derived, falls by the wayside on a lot of people. Thinking of appropriate responses when they voice their opinions.
