Today's animal from Glasgow's architecture is this magnificent wild boar on the former Kelvinside Artistic Stationery Works on Herbert Street. The quality of pointing's not quite so good!

This bridge was replaced by the new Queen Margaret Bridge (on what is now Queen Margaret Drive) in the 1920s and much of it was demolished in the 1970s, leaving just the stone piers on which it rested.

The remains of the original Queen Margaret Bridge over the River Kelvin in Glasgow. This cast iron bridge was built in 1870 by John Ewing Walker to provide access between the new neighbourhood of Kelvinside (now referred to as North Kelvinside) which he was developing and the main thoroughfare of Great Western Road on the other side of rhe Kelvin.

The brilliantly named Kelvinside Artistic Stationery Works on Herbert Street in the west end of Glasgow.
Built in 1898 and designed by Thomson, Turnbull and Peacock in no particular architectural style. However, there's a certain elegant simplicity to this building's design which I really love.

The magnificent main entrance to Kelvinside Hillhead Parish Church in the west end of Glasgow. I paritcularly like the nested gothic arches around the doors and the massive wheel window above them.
Modelled on medieval Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, this church was designed by James Sellar and built in 1876.
