Not very often discussed, but the late gen NES JRPG Ghost Lion by Kemco is very loosely, and I mean VERY loosely, based on an American/Japanese co-produced film that only ever saw release in Japan.
Even in Japan, most people only really remember the game if anything about White Lion Densetsu.
It seems to have gotten a VHS release of some kind. A rip of it is up on YouTube. It's is entirely in English, and has Japanese subtitles:

Despite how generic and bland they can be, I find myself enjoying Kemco's constant chug of JRPGs. Indeed, they are the McDonalds of JRPGs, cheap, easily available, not too well put together, yet it works great as comfort food.
