Originally conceived along the lines of #ItCantHappenHere, the network forced him to add Aliens, believing that Americans wouldn’t “get” a story about fascism. Fired after the first mini series, he is now trying to bring it back as a film. Meanwhile, Qanon types have adopted his work in the totally opposite direction - as an example of the “Lizard People” trope.

5️⃣ Steve is mentioned several times. He’s on an undercover mission, and is able to prove some info for Jaime. She alludes to her feelings for him, at one point.

6️⃣ While it’s easy to imagine a series with the Van Dusen character, there’s nothing particularly exciting about any of this or what he does. One could imagine it sustaining 13 episodes and nothing more.

7️⃣ #KennethJohnson revisited some of the ideas from this story in an excellent 2-hour episode of #TheIncredibleHulk 18 months later.

Superb #sciencefiction.

1️⃣ Written, produced and directed by #KennethJohnson.

2️⃣ The second hour is the best, with Jaime alone in a vast underground complex battling the Alex 7000 super-computer. The extensive location filming for these episodes adds a lot. The visuals are stunning.

3️⃣ #SamChew is back as Russ, for his only appearance this season. Love that guy, wish they’d used him more.

Tonight in 1978 — #TheIncredibleHulk debuted on CBS.

#BillBixby and #LouFerrigno starred in the series developed by #KennethJohnson (creator of #TheBionicWoman and the V sci-fi franchise).
