Systems like #ChatGPT and #ContentModeration need human labour to label, categorize, delete #pictures and #videos from the darkest corners of the #internet.
They employ (exploit) workers from the #philippines and #kenya, who suffer mentally form that kind of #work - some seeing #suicide as the only way to get out of this hellish job.
It's "the west" exploiting poor countries, as they don't need to pay them a lot of #money.
When a company, #sama in #keny, pulled out of a contract, workers said:
“We replied that for us, it was a way to provide for our families.”
To me, it's some kind of slave labour - dirty, mentally disturbing and destroying work!
