The Kessock Bridge near Inverness, seen from North Kessock. The bridge opened in 1982 and was the most southerly of the "Three Firths" crossings that helped bring the far north much closer to the rest of Scotland. The secluded and beautifully located hamlet of Kilmuir on the north side of the Moray Firth, just over a mile along the shore from the Kessock Bridge but rather further using the maze of single track roads on this side of the estuary.
