is so giving and it’s longevity is quite something else.

I’ve featured this before a couple of times and this public garden in and these have been going strong, for almost four months now.

It’s blue / purplish spears remain vibrant even now late in its flowering cycle. I hope the gardeners keep these in for some time yet, as I sense they still have a ways to go.

🙌💙

York groundsel blooms again in Britain’s first-ever de-extinction event
theguardian.com/environment/20

Interesting story. “Extinction” is still a permanent thing in my mind, and I think we need to consider it so—as it can be DEVASTATING for an ecosystem to lose certain populations (e.g. of keystone species). What do you think?

I believe this is a type of .

It’s fruit looks delightful.

Bright and vibrant, the fruit even shines in the late afternoon sunlight . It must attract the birds big time.

I think It was this same kind of larger fruiting tree, that was being stripped a few weeks back at sunset, in a leafy suburb (near ), by at least 150+ .

It was like a scene out of that movie ‘The Birds’… a real mess of leaves, fruit and branches strewn over the road and footpath.

They were screeching and chortling, a real dynamic and noisy scene to behold.

Never quite observed anything like that in suburbia.

This gorgeous Washington Hawthorn (I believe it is) was snapped in .

🙌❤️

Sunset along with tram tracks and the usual urban infrastructure.

This neck of the woods is one of many ‘leafy’ suburbs of Melbs.

The camera captured only a portion of the true magic that was 🍂🧡🍁🌅

Taken last night in as the sun was setting, this bed of pink flowers was quite something else.

Despite the common name "autumn sage", this blooms throughout the summer and autumn, apparently!

There was literally square metres of this stuff (Salvia greggii, aka ) growing in a public space, neighbouring a busy road.

The pinks and tinge of purples are breathtaking.

I believe this is a Salvia farinacea, aka the mealycup sage, or mealy sage… native to Nuevo León, Mexico and parts of the United States.

It grows well here too! Well, in anyways!

It has grown considerably since I saw this previously, around 3 weeks ago.

I love how some of the small petals appear to reflect the light, even though in the absence of direct sunlight (took these pics during todays sunset - it was in a shaded area).

.

included.

Much made of v. Horticulture regarding financial support to the former by the government
This support, says the government, was for big energy users.
But this document produced by Kew says that only 35% of £73.7m operating costs goes on non-research activity
That can't make them a big user, compared with horticulture or even Tesco.
More bungs for chums

This gorgeous was snapped in last night, post sunset.

The photos really bring out its gorgeous detail and colouring.

Pics are from a few little shrubby bushes that have been flowering for over 6 weeks now and I’ve been keeping an eye on their development.

Some are going brown and will die off soon, however this selection were superb!

Very , extremely pretty.

Notice how some are still unfurling (like the fronds of a fern)?

🙏💖

Meet - it’s a species of flowering plant in the family Convolvulaceae, known by many names, including blue morning glory, oceanblue morning glory, koali awa, and blue dawn flower.

It has heart-shaped or 3-lobed leaves and purple or blue funnel-shaped flowers 6–8 cm (2–3 in) in diameter.

And such a bonus… they flower from spring to autumn.

A previous toot today featured two cheeky foraging in the trees. This was where they were snapped, in this gorgeous growth… in .
