Just some tiny bits of deeper orange added to my prints yesterday. Now I’ll cut away the parts of the block that printed that colour, so they don’t show up when I print the next colour - a yellowy-orange for the leaves 🍂

I’m making slow progress with my brambling #linocut print. On top of the pale yellow and orange layers, I added a pale grey ink. Next up will be a deeper shade of orange, after I’ve cut away the parts of the block I don’t want to print (the bits I want to stay grey). Hopefully you can see how the reduction process works, (usually) printing the different colours in sequence from light to dark. I quite like the effect I’m getting with hand-burnishing thin layers of ink.
Fiddly, but fun cutting away bits of the brambling block. I’m finding it therapeutic, anyway!

Posted off one of these prints today, along with a Wren greeting card. A nice gift for someone, if I do say so myself! (Link to my shop is in my bio, if you’re interested.)
These #linocut prints are on lovely handmade, recycled coral-pink paper with a beautiful deckle edge. It’s fun trying different papers.
