That KBS reel has reminded me that #Khanun and #Lan actually co-existed close to each other for a few days, and when one poured down on W Japan & Korea, the other tried to sink Okinawa. And who knows, perhaps Lan actually pushed Khanun away from its easterly path to turn north? 🤔

At 1653z / 01:53 local, KBS 1 is finally carrying something different too! KBS News D and KBS Korea are also back to their own programming. I think the split happened just now, as some event promos were still show on KBS News D // KBS 1.

At 1327z / 22:27 local, MBC & SBS are back to regular programming after 17-18 hours of non-stop #typhoon #Khanun coverage. KBS 1 is still running the typhoon news though, still relayed on KBS News D (w/out its logo) and KBS Korea... but NOT on KBS 1 Radio, as listened to on 711 kHz via Oita KiwiSDR. The radio simulcast finished a bit before 1400z #TyphoonKhanun

OTOH, I have a weak but readable signal of NHK World Radio Japan in Japanese on 9480 kHz. News opened with what I think is #Khanun aftermath, heavy rain et al. #shortwave #typhoon

For a matter of fact, no sign-on on MBC. Newscast continued till about 1956z, followed by some spots incl. retrospectives of some flood preparations. There was a nice anime-style ID, after which another #Khanun newscast opened, this time hosted by OM & YL anchors rather than a single male.

And, I switched to 9163.1 kHz USB for HLL FAX, only to find a barely audible signal... #typhoon #TyphoonKhanun

At 1900z / 04:00 local, another special newscast began on MBC. Reports now of rain & strong wind.

So it looks like they're all running just some special newscasts, sat, 30 minutes long every 2 hours or so. Maybe the situation won't that bad? Or did advertisers have something to say?
