What a #Shabbos of peace and joy. Our 1st Kabbalat #Shabbat service was really great and well attended. Today I had a day of reading the Tanya, time with my family, and lazy napping. My new Chumash (Lubavitcher) was delivered much sooner than expected.

I hope everyone else enjoyed your Shabbos as well.

What I really enjoyed was last night's #kiddush (slash party) where we celebrated each other and our people and offered to be light in the world where some offer hate.

Every Friday night before #kiddush we say in eshet chayil, "grace is deceptive, beauty is illusory..." But, we see that the #Torah emphasizes the physical beauty of all the fore-mothers. Most recently in this week's #parsha, "while Rachel was beautiful of form and beautiful of appearance."
If beauty is not so important, as we sing Friday night, why does the Torah go out of it's way to point it out? #mazeldon
