With Russia's record on forced evictions, human rights abuses, discrimination and anti-Romani racism, this is really concerning.

I'm not saying Ukraine is good in its treatment of Roma, it most certainly is not. However, to my knowledge, Russia is significantly worse and therefore these children are especially vulnerable.
