En 1996, Michel Ciment rencontrait Kiju Yoshida pour "Projection privée" à l'occasion du Festival international du film de La Rochelle. Le cinéaste, mort le 8 décembre 2022, qui n'avait pas encore tourné "Femmes en miroir" racontait sa vision du cinéma.

Le Monde has reported the death of the great Japanese film maker Kiju Yoshida (Yoshishige Yoshida). My favourites are "Heroic Purgatory" (1970), "Eros+Massacre" (1969) and "Confessions among Actresses" (1971). Amazing works of intense formal rigor.
