#Soutine (1893 - 1943) was a French #painter of Belarusian-Jewish origin He destroyed many of his #paintings or cut them apart, preserving only the part that interested him. According to the daughter of his friend Michel Kikoïne, #Kikoïne urged Soutine to keep the part of the face of "The newspaper seller".
