Jan 7, 2023: timelapse video from #HVO’s B1cam shows 1 day of lava flow activity on central-eastern portion of Halema‘uma‘u crater floor. Lava cooling on surface, forming crustal plates, stacking up along margins to build levees, holding up a perched lava lake.

Views from the west rim of the crater, looking generally east, at new Kīlauea eruption. Dome fountain is about 10 m (30 ft) high. Much of the east side of the crater has been covered with lava. Best webcam views are from usgs.gov/media/webcams/kwcam….
