I can't sleep so I am up watching a documentary about a company that has developed pilotless AI flying robots for urban warfare recon and, uh, killing.

So now I really can't sleep.

Is there a word for when a science fiction concept actually breaks into real life and you realize how terrifying it is?

That's the story we've been mentioning on fediverse for years. We would point people to the fact that #hCaptcha rose to prominence about a year later in 2019.

We find it interesting that hCaptcha was asking people to identify boats, planes, trucks, buses, trains, and #protesters with umbrellas to repel #tearGas.

Autonomous #AI #drone killed it's operator(!), because the drone considered the operator to interfere with its goal.

Whether it was in a simulation or just a thought experiment remains unclear. The statement about the simulation was apparently"misspoken".

But we better need to regulate autonomous #KillerRobots and #KillerDrones now!
