Heat. The world is hot. The interior of continents are drying out. Lakes shrinking, rivers growing shallow, undergrowth and soil dry as kindling, German government worries Europe's forests will die even if they dont burn.

This fire started in spring, when ground in all previous years would be too wet to burn long. It has not slowed since it started, because the forests are so dry they burn easily, because climate change has dried the forests into kindling.
