"polar ejection force" due to #kinesins (Kid and KIF4a) on chromosome arms, they showed that this force is greater in longer chromosomes

error correction takes longer in the larger chromosomes, can reverse this by chopping them up with laser

add extra kinesins → increase force → more errors (slower correction)

Interesting question: is there #evolution pressure to homogenize chromosome size?
