My New Year's resolutions:
- find a new job: I am a rare and incredibly valuable asset to any organization, and just need to find one that aligns with my values. If I can make more money, still doing something I find ethical, I can give away even more than I do now.
- follow along with the Jewish calendar, too: I want to learn a lunar calendar, and my partner still knows this one & can help me.
- with my partner, organize, film, and edit a #Taskmaster episode starring my friend-family, to be shown at 2024's King of New Year's competition.
- make more TikTok videos about queer animals, animal cultures and societies, whistling, and my personal experiences of queer history. Or any other topics!
- take my husband to visit the art museums, bird sanctuary, wolf sanctuary, tiger rescues, and the elk park more often.
- stop doing stuff that feels purely performative: unnecessary autistic masking, lost-cause consumer boycotts, preemptive over-explaining, insincere apologies, etc. I almost always know the best thing for me to do, even when it's not deemed socially or politically appropriate.
- keep up the good work: with the help of my friends and partners, I make my life better every single year. 2022 has been very hard, but I've still managed to improve myself, even after the attack in September reset my progress.
