Castle Rising, near #kingslynn. This was not the place where Isabella was held prisoner, but rather her favourite castle. In 1173 a previous queen, Eleanor of Aquitaine, had failed to overthrow her husband Henry II, but in 1326 Isabella achieved the first successful invasion of England since 1066 and the first overthrow of an English king by a woman. Isabella's reputation needs revisiting.
