This original part of the Auld Aisle Cemetery , overgrown with a small forest around the centuries old tombstones now, also boasts a Resurrection Tower, where watch would be kept for body snatchers, illicitly dug up & sold to unscrupulous medical schools for dissection training.

This original part of the Auld Aisle Cemetery is mostly walled off from the much larger one, and overgrown with foliage and trees, old headstones between them, like a graveyard in a forest, some entirely swallowed by growth (you only realise you're walking on a tombstone from the feel, the grass giving way to hard stone, covered up)

During research for my 2018 book Noisesome Ghosts, which focuses on and that have the ability to write or speak, I found an concentration of these rare & communicative entities in . In my 2020 article in Paranormal Review (95) I make the case for Glasgow as being the ghost capital of (if not the globe). Macleod that accompanied its own dead body through Glasgow airport & spoke to colleagues (1995), poltergeist phenomena at a twenty-first century building re-development which included responsive raps & an screaming “GET OUT!” at a researcher & the poltergeist where an entity terrorised a young family & traced letters in flour (2011-2012).

My friend was reading this random internet article about an apple pie judged the best in .

It sounded like it was judged in a manner straight out of Agatha Raisin which added to the story.

Anyway, the winner is made at a bakery near us so we popped down the road and got one — and gotta say, damn fine apple pie.

Obviously I haven’t tasted every other apple pie in Scotland, but you could do worse than get to Peter’s Bakery in and get yourself an apple pie.
