I wasn't kidding. I made an alt!kit based on old concepts for my own enjoyment (not fix-it). First are loose sketches, second is a pixel art test, I'll make a bigger ref later.

Lore:
Android fennec fox with abilities to manipulate water from his pack, changing from water, ice and steam.

Cold, calculating, very observant of surroundings. Sussed by sympathy/empathy/kindness but not to the extent of complete inability to understand it. He will repay favors/debt.

Has no memories of who made him or his intended purpose. He feels like he owes [old!surge] his life for helping him realize he can form his own identity. They work as a team and despite sometimes appearing virtriolic to each other he respects her a great deal.

He has an emergency mode when significantly damaged that makes him less sentient and unlocks the ability to take water from the current environment for himself.

Knowledgeable enough about robotics to fix himself. Waterproof. Only eats food high in moisture (fruits).

Surge and Kit's relationship made me cringe. She is constantly verbally abusive to him, it obviously makes him very anxious/possibly gives him an inferiority compex, yet he can't help but be loyal to her because its what he's programmed to do. It is really heart wrenching to read for me. I really hope he gets better things in the future.

As soon as Sonic IDW Imposter Syndrome fell into my hand I just knew I had to draw Kit. Thankfully I got a bunch of pointers from a friend. I am pretty happy with the final result.
