Arguably, sorting out public transport will do more reducing our #emissions than the #CleanCarDiscount

A superb article explaining how the extreme-wealthy recommended and manipulated the sell-off of NZ rail assets (partly to themselves), profited, and implemented inadequate monitoring rather than investment in the system. Hence the current Wellington crisis, which replicates what happened in Auckland.

Inclusive Access is a key aim of the #NZ Transport Outcomes Framework. But #KiwiRail's long-distance train pricing is the very definition of exclusive access, deliberately priced for affluent international visitors, excluding all but the richest Kiwis from getting around by train. And certainly not affordable for family travel (example requires two overnight stays at extra cost as well).
