A4. My favorite AM radio pastime is listening to baseball through #KiwiSDR stations around the country. On opening day I tuned in English language home-team broadcasts from all but two teams (the Padres and the Blue Jays proved to be tough to tune).
For shortwave listening, there are some good scheduled weekly shows like Pop Shop Radio from Hope BC, and fun to copy pirate broadcasts like Ball Smacker Radio. Weekend evenings US Eastern time tend to be good.
A3. Have never transmitted on 630m (472–479 kHz) or 2200m (136 kHz).
The closest I've gotten is listening to NDB stations in the US on #KiwiSDR systems - one near me, "Pembleton Farms KiwiSDR", has a 230 meter Beverage antenna. I've also listened to #longwave broadcast stations in Europe especially BBC Radio 4 on 198 kHz through the U Twente #WebSDR .

Somebody's doing some good dance & pop music on 540.03, this slightly off-frequency... oh it just IDed as Los 40 - so it's XEWA San Luis Potosi🇲🇽, apparently still running as much as 150kW, and a 1.5kW relay in Monterrey #mediumwave #AMradio Maurice, LA #KiwiSDR
KiwiSDR 2 on the horizon…

Just caught EAM tones w/ Flash Flood Warning for San Diego County, camping on one of the two San Diego #KiwiSDR's as somebody's skipping between 600 & 1130 kHz. The SDRs themselves are full so camping is all I can do with them at the moment... #Hilary #HurricaneHilary

Can you make out anything? Apart from the fact the transmitter got knocked-off for a few seconds? #mediumwave #KiwiSDR #typhoon #Lan #TyphoonLan

In Oita, 1368 is a Chinese buried under heavy splash from local 1377 NHK-2 Yamaguchi, JOUC #mediumwave #KiwiSDR
At 0942z / 18:42 JST, I'm looking at a #KiwiSDR map, and am pleased to see nodes in both Osaka and Kyoto have survived the #typhoon ❤️
Two more receivers in Aichi are also up. #Lan #TyphoonLan

poking around #KiwiSDR #shortwave setups in Europe - from IZ6BYY in Italy, I ran across something groovy at 549 kHz. It took Shazam a few tries to identify it.

Fine decode in Vadodra🇮🇳 though ... well, when I'm not recording it at least 😆 it does chop when OBS is running #shortwave #KiwiSDR #drmlog
Hearing KPH RTTY on 12585.5 kHz cf as well as CW on 17016.8 on Bjargtangar🇮🇸 #KiwiSDR #shortwave
Looking for Czech Radio on #KiwiSDR.s for the Centennary of Radio celebrated today, namely the 954 kHz #DRM test, I realised we're in the midst of World Men's Ice Hockey Championship 2023... and Czechia is crushing Slovenia with 6-2 score 💪with seconds to finish the match.
From 1700z on this freq, a celebratory concert will be broadcast on CRo Radiozurnal, I think it will also be on TV.

My #KiwiSDR is now available to the public http://kiwi.hb9vqq.ch:8073 #swl #hamradio #EFHW
This is easy to see on a #KiwiSDR setup, and with that system you can drag the edge of the filter appropriately to avoid the interference (at the expense of a little less signal). I do this regularly with adjacent AM stations that bleed over.
A bit late start for #VaticanRadio #Eaater Holy Mass special on #shortwave: 17790 kHz in French came on @ 0756z w/ commentary in progress, bells followed. 21600 Arabic came up a dozen seconds later, listening to that one on IZ0INA #KiwiSDR w/ a monster groundwave signal. 17760 Portuguese & 17775 English not on yet; but 17780 has a CNR1 jammer.
0800z: both 17760 & 17775 went on air w/ Alleluya chant in progress, YL En commentaror welcoming listeners on "many more stations, video feeds"

I've been seeking out #KiwiSDR receivers that have #Beverage antennas. They often have very good low noise reception.
https://vielmetti.typepad.com/w8emv/2023/04/kiwisdr-sites-with-beverage-antennas.html
These antennas tend to get installed in low noise rural environments because where else can you get enough real estate to put them in? And perhaps most important, if you see a 500 foot antenna in active use you know that someone has made an investment in the hobby, and you really can't count on that for every KiwiSDR out there on the net.
Thanks to #NH6XO for running a #KiwiSDR in Hawaii.
From the QRZ page:
"The Beverage antenna is made of about 220 feet of insulated #12 solid copper installed an “average” height of 6 feet. The Beverage antenna orientation is approximately 190 degrees true. For what it is worth, the Koolau Mountain Range blocks most signals from the West"
There are at least a few other KiwiSDR systems that use Beverage antennas for reception - generally they have excellent reception.
Looks like some #KiwiSDR systems now have #FT8 support, listening and spotting.
One near me ("Pembleton Farms KiwiSDR") looks to be in a quiet spot with a good antenna and I see and hear lots of signals on 40 meters at the moment including 3A8AB Morocco special event station.
I can only listen for so long to FT8 audio.
Release notes for the feature are here on the KiwiSDR forum: https://forum.kiwisdr.com/index.php?p=/discussion/2837/v1-581-ft8-extension
Thanks to @F4EGX_Nico for noticing here!
