Anyone running Prind? Klipper et al in a Docker container? #3dprinting #klipper

#MandicReally on Youtube compared building a #Voron or running #Klipper to being an advanced 3D printing topic and implementing CAN bus to be even a step higher.

I am no beginner at electronics and I found serial to be thw failure of a few prints and I2C and SPI to also fail at larger distances, for obvious reasons, it is not what they are meant for.

I feel CAN bus has become the more mature communication protocol in Klipper and is quite popular in many new add-on boards and 3rd party expansions to your printer.

Has this been the experience for others who have either installed such boards or implemented their own code, Klipper, or even #Moonraker add-ons? Is it really such a pain, show I use it for my custom implementations, or should I just go the #MQTT route for a custom enclosure to control fans, heating, and lights?

On my new journey with #klipper, I have started looking into more details tuning. Among others, pressure advance. Tried the line method today, after using PA tower on first filament. I think I’ve found my preference, even though the tower is way slower. 😅

Fertig. Nur ein Fehler im End-Makro hat mir den Toplayer etwas versaut. Da muss ich mit Schleifpapier dran, weil an der letzten Position die Düse da blieb, wo sie war.

Das Beispielteil wurde noch mit der Originalfirmware gedruckt und hatte viele Probleme (inkl kaputter Düse). Der Korb wurde vollständig über Klipper gedruckt und brauchte ca 24h.

Die Wände sind fertig (gerade eben) und der obige Rand wird nun aufgesetzt.

It took a couple of hours installing #klipper but we are ready for a test print. I think that I might need to calibrate the e-steps of the extruder, but I wanted to see if I could get it to go first. I noticed in the console that I have missed a configuration step. 😅

Grundplatte ist nun abgeschlossen. Der Sockel der Wände ist jetzt dran.

Wie schon beim Testdruck, habe ich kein Support gesetzt. Die Flechtmuster müssen so halten.

Für heute bin ich erstmal fertig.

Das neue Gehirn ist an den Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro angedockt.

Es hat wirklich alles sehr gut funktioniert. Einzig die printer.cfg hätte ich gleich von der Originalseite nehmen sollen. Das Beispiel aus einem Blog war etwas krude.

Aber nun funktioniert alles.

Is there a #NixOS version of #Klipper? I think it would be a great addition to the ecosystem. Allowing me to configure my entire setup for my enclosure and other #IOT condiguration and just reinstall it if I break everything. If something happens to my Klipper installation, it could result in about a week of downtime.

Wenn ich #Klipper auf einen #Raspberry Pi 4 haben wollte, welche RAM Version macht da Sinn?

4GB hatte ich überlegt, aber wenn es gute Gründe für 8GB gibt, müsste ich mit dem Aufpreis leben. Es soll noch ein Touchscreen mit 1024x600 dran.

Wenn es wichtig ist, es wird ein Creality Ender 3 s1 Pro dranhängen.
