I guess it's a law of nature that enthusiasts spend 80% of their time printing parts and upgrades for their printer...

Anyway, the project I wrote about here now has a new home on top of my printer cabinet:

The phone is held nicely in place and the top part can be angled in several set positions. The whole assembly attaches to the cabinet with magnets.

Also, I'm really enjoying . Very useful addition to my setup.

Have been wanting to add a screen to my setup, on the outside of the cabinet so I can easily check up on progress, status, etc.

Since I'm using on a Pro, that would mean I'd have to use . Haven't made it a priority though, but the other day I realised I could easily use an Android phone as a wireless screen. Interesting...

Just to make sure, you are running here with the native Klipper LCD support? That is also the default display, right?

It really looks great! I just love the icon for the nozzle, it looks very good. I've been wondering if I want to go for a touch screen and or just for an LCD display like this. I have a , so my fisplay is currently not working with Klipper.

@koz

The people living with me prefer to have a screen for them to know what is going on, just for safety, so I intend to get a 7" display and and mount it on the enclosure

I installed , although I currently don't have a screen.

I did this because I am planning on working in the wiring in the near future, so if I can prepare for a touch screen, it would be nice.

However, once again, I can overestimate enough how fast is. Not only on my desktop but also on my phone.

I have now uninstalled all mobile apps on my phone, and I am just using the app directly in my browser, and it is faster than most apps.

Unfortunately, in this process, I did lose my smartwatch app that provided. Which I 100% still recommened btw. The developer is such a decent guy, and he helped me a lot . His app and watch app are the next level of top quality! Probably one of my most difficult losses of this process.

Although I enjoyed my transition. I stayed with , which was actually the final straw.

Although I could live without my printer's display, the lag and sluggish and slow of Octoprint just pushed me over the limit. I felt as if I couldn't react to my printer anymore.

So with a heavy heart, I removed my SD card, wiped it and installed a clean version of OS Lite, and used to install , , , , and

"Both devices are 300 x 300 x 300 mm CoreXY machines, an interesting switch for Creality, which has largely relied on the bedslinger i3 approach until now."

This is very good and interesting. I hope this helps bring to the masses because most of the current CoreXY machines are very niche or self-built machines, which is a limiting factor.

I don't see any mention of whether they are using or , but my guess is Klipper for it's native networking support.

An interesting question would be whether they went the route, have they implemented their own displays, or will the printers simply not have displays at all and rely on network support for everything.
