It's #KM1 time! 5 cents from #Uganda 1966. Uganda gained independence from the UK on 9 October 1962. Coins for "East Africa" were used in Uganda, Tanzania & Kenya. These continued to be issued until 1964, by which time all three countries were independent from the UK. The last 1964 issues did not feature the Queen. In 1966 Uganda issued its own coins, with the smallest being this 5 cents, based on the design of the East Africa coin of the same denomination. #EastAfrica #SaturdayNightCoinShow
