The checkout lanes were narrow due to being crowded by crap hanging on hooks on both sides. The cart would bump some of it, and an item would fall right into the basket. Clever! lol
Scenario #2:
A customer would whip out a checkbook to pay without having gone through the customer service pre-approval check butt probe.
