I was inundated with suggestions and had to make a note in #obsidianMD to keep track of all of them and do some comparisons. It's exciting to see so much out there that could work, and I honestly won't know till I actually battle-test some of them. Right now, #Knave looks best to me. That quick character build!

The wreck of the #CentralAmerica has been in the news lately, due to the auction of its #sunken #gold #treasure, but it's also very meaningful - many from #California, #Oakland and #SanFrancisco died, when it went down. This #1955 edition of the #Knave in the #OaklandTribune tells the story of its sinking. Also, Albert E. Norman reminisces about his neighbors, and the 1848 London Times talks about California Gold. #history #genealogy #stories #newspaper

I think that it might be a better #osr system for #DwarfFortress than GLOG, because of how the magic works in Dwarf Fortress. Add a death & dismemberment table, narrate hits as bruising the fat or muscle and that a cover combat. I was making a 2d12 system that would've maybe looked more like some Traveller abomination probably, but Knave would definitely work.
Races would be the trickier part, but dwarfs & humans could just be the same, just big & small. A start.
