I'm a lefty, and while I have gotten pretty adept at transposing crochet instructionals done by right-handed folks I would not be sad to receive lefty-specific recommendations!

I've #knit a goodly number of #shawls and here's my experience of #blocking - YMMV. NB: untreated animal fibre yarns.
Most of my shawls are majority garter stitch, namely Shetland-style haps. These comprise a large garter triangle, lace border on two sides, and a narrow lace edge to finish those sides.

Picked up a WIP shawl (had a rolled edge similar to Icord). Started knitting and realised I couldn't remember how I'd done the rolled edge. Fiddled for hours, searched the internet, but couldn't replicate it....argh! Pulled it all undone...boohoo.
Began something else...a new shawl. Completed the first 130 rows. About to start the first lace section.

Started a new woven pattern throw with fall colors, pattern originally by mamainastitch. Thinking about switching over to aluminum needles because the bamboo are absolutely killing my hands and wrists, and I don't think I can do a whole throw without destroying them.
