TEST KNITTERS NEEDED

Hello friends! I put a testing call on Instagram, but I wanted to reach out here as well, especially since I often seem to reach more people here. I have finished my tapestry pattern and it is fully tech edited and ready for testing.

It's knit flat, bottom-up in one piece. I used Loops & Threads Capri eco cotton (worsted/medium weight) in yellow speckle and US 8/5mm needles for the sample shown here. Pattern is not gauge specific.

It's got some more advanced stitches, and I've included tutorial links in the pattern for those willing to learn any new techniques. There are more details in the application, which you can find in the link in my bio, and I'm happy to answer any questions!

Test will run from Monday, April 10th to Monday, May 8th. I'm hoping for at least 3-5 testers.

Today I released the Vastness of Space Socks! With a gradually-lengthening distance between well-defined cable crosses, this toe-up pattern is easy enough for TV knitting while still keeping you interested and motivated to the end.

Sneak Peak

I'll be putting up another #knitting pattern in the next few days.

It's a cowl with a leavy pattern to add a bit of interest, but not so many holes it doesn't keep warm. Made with beautiful sportweight handdyed yarn (not by me).

One last thing to do on these two-at-a-time Our Solar System socks: the heels! I might complain about knitting the body of the sock 2aat, but afterthought heels 2aat? Sign me up! I get a lot of complaints from people that I mostly design toe-up socks, because they have trouble fitting them. So I made patterns with formulas to help people adjust any toe-up pattern to suit their own row gauge! No more guessing and frogging. Just toe-up socks that fit!

I finally made it to Saturn! And the heel marker's in, but there's still a long way to go to get to Pluto. I wonder how tall these socks will end up being...⁠

Did you know that the best place for a human base in the Jupiter system is probably Callisto? It has lower levels of radiation than Jupiter's other major moons, and possibly a deep subsurface ocean for water.

I’ve gotten almost no knitting (or laundry, or cooking, or leaving the house) done all weekend, because I’ve spent the past four days making updates to my website, most of which are invisible and just to make my life easier. Practically no one ever goes to my website, but for me it’s another challenging creative project to work on, so I keep improving it anyway.

My next (very time-consuming) goal is migrating my videos from IG. 😬 Maybe it would be easier to just record new ones…

I love heavyweight socks. They are so warm and smooshy, and my long feet and I love how satisfying to knit they are because they're fast! I'm already so far along on these; I think my whole pair will be done by next weekend.⁠
