The Carousel Socks so far (the other is at the same point of progress).
The construction and stripe pattern is intriguing. I’m not crazy about the fit over the instep. It has been an interesting knit, and I’m using up a fair amount of yarn leftovers. I’m not sure if I would do it again, but if I did I would want to invest in an appropriately sized circular and do magic loop. Usually I’m a dpn person all the way, but they got annoying here.

#KnittingFromStash : Another pair of fingerless mitts on the needles. Just something to do with my hands on a chilly night...
I finished these, and they were a fairly unsatisfactory project. I enjoyed working the cables themselves, but while I’m pretty good at following knitting directions, these were hard for me to figure out particularly the toe decreases. I don’t like the way the tops of the cuffs flare out; the foot is a tad too short; and I think my choice of yarn to substitute wasn’t the best. If I cared more about them (I don’t) I would rip back and add a few more rounds in length. #Fiberuary #KnittingFromStash
I haven’t done cables in a while. I found it surprisingly challenging to keep track of cable twist rounds at the same time as keeping track of gusset decrease rounds. More out of practice than I realized 😂
The slipper pattern is from Drops/Garnstudio, and is called Chili

For the color week I thought about different techniques and decided to go simple with stripes. I wanted to make DK weight knee socks to wear around the house and had these three colors on hand: one solid and two different pastel gradients. To liven things up a little I added some slip stitches to the stripes, still very easy to work, but adds interest.
I decided it was time to haul out a skein of sock yarn that has been sitting in a drawer for at least fifteen years. I probably should have dug out the yarn swift, too, as of course I ended up with a tangle at the end. But it’s all untangled, and wound into two balls, so now it’s time to start swatching.

I finished the scrap yarn baby socks. The gauge on the foot of the left one is noticeably looser than the right. No, I am not going to rip back and re-do.

So this isn’t so much stash yarn as little bits and bobs of leftover sock yarn I’ve been saving forever. But I’m still counting it as #KnittingFromStash because I’m not buying any new yarn to make these baby socks
