Testning a theory. Hexagon knitted on my knittax knitting machine. Two such pieces would indeed be possible to make into a cardigan. Perhaps with a bit wide arms. A bit adjustment on the short row shaping could help with that. And I'll need to find a way to make the center of the hexagon a bit tighter as to not have a huge hole under the arm. I genuinely don't know if I could pick my favourite, so instead I'll talk about the newest facet of my fibre art hobby: machine knitting.

What a rabbit hole, man. My friend gave me a simple Brother bulky machine, and the next thing you know I've got a standard gauge electronic machine and a ribber, and someone nearby was selling a punchcard machine and a garter carriage for a stupidly low price, and and and.

There's a huge learning curve, of course, but the speed is enthralling. I made a blanket/wrap in a couple of days, rather than several months. (Still working on perfecting a sweater pattern that fits me the way I want, though.)

Just playing with the hacked #KnittingMachine with my favorite band's logo and some donated sequin yarn. Moderate glitch art effect but not as bad as I feared from the mess on the back.

Love the #AYAB software/hardware (All Yarns Are Beautiful) but some yarns, frankly, are a massive pain to work with. #knitting #TextileMakerspace

In retrospect, I should've realized that knitting insects as a farewell to the built in patterns on the #KnittingMachine before we replace its brain would end up being a bit... Buggy. 🤔

Last week after the group ride it was just slightly too cold for comfort, and now I'm eyeing my yarn stash to see if I can crank out a lightweight hat on the knitting machine before next week's ride. (Not like I haven't already knit a dozen hats, but you know.)

I've been so frustrated with my vintage punchcard knitting machine lately, I was going to exile it to the closet. But today I summoned some patience and ran some experiments: fair isle failed, but slip with a punchcard did... at least something different. Calling that a win for now. #fiberuary #KnittingMachine

#hobbystreak #CraftStreak day 11? I think. Not able for much due to my stupid hip #subluxations (partial dislocations) so cranked out 2 kids hats on my #knittingmachine. #hypermobility

Side note I ordered a new hip brace today should be here by Friday. Lost my old one during the house move and corsets aren't cutting it.

Sweater update - front piece done, sweater basted together, and it doesn't not fit! I'm going to seam and wash and block before I assess any shaping adjustments, because it will soften and settle into a different shape after it's been washed and dried.

Two sleeves and one sweater back piece finished. I'm still not letting myself believe that this is going to fit. Not until I knit the front piece and baste it all together so I can try it on, anyway. Fingers crossed!

Enjoying my new knitting machine and made 5 hats today, it did take me most of the day tho but holy heck this is so fast. #knittingmachine #knitting

After more than a little bit of math, measuring, math, poking Designaknit, cursing, ripping out and re-winding yarn, and some more math, I think I've successfully knit a sweater sleeve that will fit. I still have concerns that I'm going to run out of yarn before I run out of sweater, but we shall see.
